the flood watch continues for

* portions of northeast ohio and northwest pennsylvania, 
  including the following areas, in northeast ohio, mahoning, 
  portage, stark, summit, and trumbull. in northwest 
  pennsylvania, crawford. 

* through sunday afternoon

* additional rainfall of around an inch is expected overnight with
  locally higher amounts possible. this could lead to flooding as
  the ground is very wet which will allow much of the rain to run
  off. locally higher rainfall amounts remain possible. 

* area creeks and streams will see rises occurring later tonight 
  and sunday. 

precautionary/preparedness actions...

a flood watch is issued when there is a potential for flooding.
monitor the forecast and remain alert for possible flood

* a portion of central pennsylvania, including the following 
  areas, adams, bedford, blair, cambria, cameron, clearfield, 
  columbia, cumberland, dauphin, elk, franklin, fulton, 
  huntingdon, juniata, lancaster, lebanon, mckean, mifflin, 
  montour, northern centre, northern clinton, northern lycoming, 
  northumberland, perry, potter, schuylkill, snyder, somerset, 
  southern centre, southern clinton, southern lycoming, 
  sullivan, tioga, union, warren, and york. 

* through sunday evening

* recent rain has left stream levels high and soils very wet. two
  distinct periods of rain that occurred friday and saturday
  brought most residents of central and northern pennsylvania a
  total between three quarters of an inch, and one and one quarter
  of an inch so far. the final area of low pressure will and area
  of significant moisture move northeast up the ohio valley
  tonight through sunday morning bringing an additional one-half 
  of an inch, to one-inch of rain, with locally higher amounts up 
  to 1.5 inches possible. runoff from this rain will increase the 
  threat of flooding across the region sunday into early sunday 
  evening.
 
* monitor forecasts closely and be alert for possible flood 
  warnings. those living in flood prone areas should be prepared 
  to take action should flooding develop.
