...travel conditions will continue to deteriorate through the noon hour...
moderate to...at times...heavy snow will can be expected through the
afternoon hours across the north country. temperatures will fall
to the lower 20s by early afternoon...allowing for snow
accumulation and slick driving conditions. snowfall rates of 1
inch per hour can be expected through the early afternoon. winds are
already gusting to 30 mph...with higher gusts expected this
afternoon. this is resulting in blowing and drifting snow...as
well as reduced visibilities.
by afternoon...northeast winds gusting to 45 mph will result in
considerable blowing and drifting snow...as well as visibilities
of near zero at times. in addition...snowfall rates could reach 2
inches per hour during the peak of the storm this afternoon.
travel will become extremely hazardous or even nearly impossible
at times due to the combination of very heavy snow and blowing
snow. travel is not recommended. if you must travel...slow down
and be sure to have extra food and water in your car...as well as
a fully charged cell phone.
