...small craft advisory remains in effect from midnight tonight
to 7 am est monday...
...gale watch remains in effect from monday morning through late
monday night...
* winds...south to southwest around 15 kt early this evening
...will increase to 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 30 kt late
tonight. winds will veer to the west during monday...and
further increase to 25 to 30 kt with gusts up to 35 kt.
* seas...two to 4 ft early this evening...will quickly build to 5
to 8 ft overnight...with the outer waters off cape fear possibly
reaching 9 to 10 ft. short periods of 5 to 7 seconds will
dominate the seas.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
a small craft advisory means that wind speeds of 25 to 33 knots
and or seas of 6 ft or greater are expected to produce hazardous
conditions to small craft. inexperienced mariners...especially
those operating smaller vessels...should avoid navigating in
these conditions.
a gale watch is issued when the risk of sustained or frequent
gusts to gale force...speeds of 34 to 47 knots...has
significantly increased...but the specific timing and or location
is still uncertain. it is intended to provide additional lead
time for mariners who may wish to consider altering their plans.

a gale watch...which is in effect from late tonight through late
monday night.
* winds...southwest 25 to 35 kt with gusts up to 40 kt...becoming northwest.
* seas...6 to 11 feet.

a gale watch is issued when the risk of gale force winds of 34 to
47 knots has significantly increased...but the specific timing
