...freezing rain advisory remains in effect until 7 am est
wednesday...

* locations...mid hudson valley...eastern catskills and 
  helderbergs...mohawk valley...capital region...and taconics.

* hazard types...freezing rain...possibly mixed with some snow 
  or sleet at times.

* ice accumulations...ice accretion of a trace to up to one tenth
  of an inch in the valleys...and one tenth to one quarter of an
  inch across higher elevations. locally higher amounts of up to
  one third of an inch possible across higher elevations.

* timing...a mix of freezing rain...sleet and rain may
  occasionally mix with snow at times close to and north of
  interstate 90 this evening before tapering off as freezing
  drizzle or drizzle toward daybreak.

* impacts...ice and slush covered roadways will make for hazardous
  travel. untreated walkways...driveways and sidewalks will be
  very slippery. isolated to scattered power outages are possible
  in areas that receive the most significant freezing rain.
  additional icing may still occur even after temperatures rise
  above freezing.

* winds...southeast 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

* temperatures...falling into the lower 30s this evening...then
  holding steady or rising slightly into the lower to mid 30s
  before daybreak.

precautionary/preparedness actions...

a freezing rain advisory means that periods of freezing rain or
freezing drizzle will cause travel difficulties. be prepared for
slippery roads. slow down and use caution while driving.

* locations...oneida... otsego... delaware and sullivan counties 
  in central new york.

* hazard types...light freezing rain.

* ice accumulations...less than a tenth of an inch.

* timing...rain and freezing rain will taper off to drizzle late
  this evening. temperatures will also rise a degree or two
  tonight to be at or above freezing.

* impacts...ice accumulations may create slippery road
  conditions.

* winds...southeast 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

* temperatures...in the lower 30s.

...freezing rain advisory remains in effect until 10 pm est this
evening...

* locations...monroe county in pennsylvania and sussex county in 
  new jersey.

* hazard type...freezing rain and freezing drizzle...mainly at 
  elevations above 1000 feet.

* ice accumulations...up to a few hundredths of an inch.

* timing...intermittent showers will continue into the evening. 
  in between these showers...freezing drizzle and freezing fog 
  will be possible at the higher elevations. once the 
  temperatures in the higher terrain is above freezing by late 
  this evening...all precipitation should be plain rain for the 
  remainder of the night.

* temperatures...temperatures in the higher terrain...including 
  mount pocono and high point are holding just below freezing at 
  this time. temperatures are expected to increase through the 
  evening hours and should be above freezing by late this 
  evening.

* visibilities...below one half mile at times especially in the
  higher terrain of the poconos.

* impacts...icing may create slippery conditions especially on
  untreated roads and sidewalks. motorists are urged to exercise
  caution for both slippery conditions and reduced visibilities if
  traveling in these areas tonight.
