  washington counties 
  choctawhatchee river near bruce (sr 20) affecting walton county 

precautionary/preparedness actions...

forecasts...and be prepared to take necessary precautions to protect 
life and property. do not drive cars through flooded areas. if you

* at  8:01 pm sunday the stage was 15.1 feet. 
* minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* flood stage is 12.0 feet. 
* forecast...the river will continue rising to near 15.6 feet by 
  tuesday evening then begin falling.
* impact...at 16.0 feet...highway 279 south of caryville will be cut 
  off. several fish camps...residential areas and additional rural 
  roads in the area will be flooded.

the flood warning continues for the aucilla river at lamont (us 27).
* until late thursday night...or until the warning is cancelled.
* at  9:00 pm sunday the stage was 55.1 feet. 
* minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* flood stage is 54.0 feet. 
* forecast...the river will continue rising to near 55.1 feet by 
  early monday morning. the river will fall below flood stage 
  thursday evening.
* impact...at 56.0 feet...widespread lowland flooding will occur. 
  water will approach a few houses on us highway 27.

* until late wednesday night...or until the warning is cancelled.
* at  8:00 pm sunday the stage was 24.5 feet. 
* moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* flood stage is 22.0 feet. 
* forecast...the river will continue to fall and fall below flood
  stage late wednesday night. 
* impact...at 23.0 feet...water will start to affect houses and mobile
  homes in the flood plain downstream from the gage. a few fish camps
  downstream of highway 20 will be affected by flood water.

* impact...at 16.5 feet...major flooding occurs along the east and 
  west banks of the choctahatchee river from near the confluence with
  holmes creek to the gulf of mexico affecting many homes and fishing
  camps.
