...strong thunderstorms with waterspouts possible over the waters...
the areas affected include...
coastal waters from fernandina beach to st. augustine fl out 20
nm...
at 957 am edt...the public reported a strong thunderstorm producing
a waterspout. this thunderstorm was located near jacksonville
beach...or 23 nm north of saint augustine. the thunderstorm was
moving north at 15 knots.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
mariners can expect gusty winds up to 33 knots...locally higher
waves...lightning strikes...and waterspouts. boaters should seek
safe harbor immediately until this storm passes.

...strong thunderstorms will affect coastal waters from destin to
pensacola fl out 20 nm... waters from destin to pensacola fl from 20
to 60 nm...waters from pensacola fl to pascagoula ms from 20 to 60
nm...until 1015 am cdt...
at 837 am cdt...strong thunderstorms was located 24 nm south of
oriskany reef...or 41 nm south of pensacola beach...moving north at
10 knots.
other strong storms were located northeast toward the coast off
santa rosa and okaloosa counties...also moving north at around 10
knots.
locations impacted include...
fort walton liberty ship reef... oriskany reef...
the primary threats from these storms are wind gusts up to 30
knots...locally higher waves...and heavy downpours. boaters should
consider seeking safe harbor until this storm has passed.
frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. if caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible and keep away from metal
objects.
weather conditions support the development of waterspouts.
waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous
waves and seas. if a waterspout is sighted...seek safe harbor
immediately.
