is the average height of the highest 1/3 of the waves...along
with the average height of the highest 10 percent of the waves
which will occasionally be encountered.
.synopsis...high pressure of 30.4 inches from southern quebec
across the ohio valley to the gulf coast will slowly weaken and
drift east into sunday. a weak low is crossing lake huron this
afternoon and its associated trough axis will move southward down
the remainder of lake michigan this afternoon. surface low pressure
in the lee of the central rockies will strengthen to around 29.8
inches as it consolidates over northern missouri by sunday morning.
the low will then deepen to around 29.4 inches as it crosses the
ohio valley into sunday night. high pressure of 30.5 inches will
quickly move into the high plains behind the low sunday night then
move east to the lower ohio valley by monday night. another low
pressure system is forecast to cross the lakes later tuesday with
another strong high building in wednesday night. this high will
shift east of the lake later thursday while a surface low moves east
through hudson bay.

.synopsis...a 30.4 inch high centered over west virgina will move
southeast and become centered over the carolina coast overnight. a
30.1 inch trough of low pressure just east of sault saint marie will
slide into quebec tonight. a large 30.9 inch high pressure system
across western and central canada will settle across the northern
and central plains states at 30.6 inches sunday into sunday night.
expect a 30.5 inch ridge extending from this high across lake
superior sunday morning to slowly weaken to 30.2 inches by monday
afternoon as the area of high pressure drifts across the ohio
valley...and then the mid atlantic states tuesday. a 29.9 inch trough
will then cross the upper great lakes on tuesday.
