warning for the following rivers in georgia...
tucsawhatchee creek near hawkinsville affecting pulaski county
.recent heavy rainfall has caused significant runoff into streams and
rivers which will cause flooding in some areas.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
all persons with interests along the creek should monitor the latest
forecasts...and be prepared to take necessary precautions to protect
life and property.
the latest stage data was furnished in cooperation with the united
states geological survey.

* flood warning for
the tucsawhatchee creek near hawkinsville.
* from this evening until further notice.
* at 10 pm saturday the stage was 10.74 feet and rising.
* the creek is expected to crest just above flood early sunday
morning.
* flood stage is 11 feet.
* at 11 feet...flood stage is reached. minor flooding of
woodlands...fields and pastures begin upstream and downstream from
the gage on georgia highways 257 and 27.

muskegon river at evart affecting osceola county
.the muskegon river near evart has fallen below moderate flood
stage. minor flooding will continue...but the river continues to
fall. mainly dry weather is expected into sunday evening. showers
are expected later sunday night into monday but rainfall amounts
should be less than a quarter inch. that will have little or no
impact on the continued decline of the river level.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
safety message...even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock
you off your feet... and a depth of 2 feet will float your car.
never try to walk... swim... or drive through such swift water. if
you come upon flood waters... stop... turn around and go another way.
this warning will be in effect until the river falls below its flood
stage.

* until late monday night.
* at 8:45 pm saturday the stage was 12.9 feet.
* flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* forecast...the river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
monday early afternoon.
* impact...at 12.5 feet...expect significant flooding in the area of
m66 and 9 mile...impacting homes in the jefferies...doc and tom...
timberlane drive and wildlife shores subdivisions. roads become
un-navigable in the jefferies...doc and tom...and wildlife shores
subdivisions. evacuation of homes in the flooded area may be
necessary. significant road closures along river road between 80th
avenue and m66. flooding of homes in low lying areas along river
road between 80th avenue and m66 also occurs.
* flood history...this crest compares to a previous crest of 13.0 feet
on apr 30 2011.

to near 21.1 feet after midnight. the river will fall below flood stage
sunday morning.
* impact...at 20.0 feet...minor flood stage. there is significant
overflow into adjacent lowlands.
