colorado avalanche information center.
...avalanche warning issued for the sangre de cristo, southern san
juan and northern san juan mountains, the ruby range, and the west
elk mountains ...
a strong winter storm has deposited a foot of new snow thus far and
periods of heavy snowfall and increasing winds are forecast for the
next couple days. natural and human triggered avalanches are likely
on all steep slopes today.
backcountry travel into or below avalanche terrain is not
recommended at this time.

the following message is transmitted at the request of the
forest service utah avalanche center.
this avalanche warning is for the mountains of southwest utah.
heavy snow is causing a high avalanche danger, which should
continue through tuesday. backcountry travelers should avoid
slopes steeper than 30 degrees and stay out from underneath steep
slopes.
this warning does not include ski areas or highways where
avalanche control is normally done.
