...enhanced fire danger this afternoon and early evening...
...patchy frost expected early thursday morning...
relative humidity will drop to around 25 percent for many locations
late today. this very dry air will present an enhanced wildfire
danger during the afternoon and early evening. any open burning
will be potentially dangerous and is discouraged. in addition...
kentucky state law prohibits burning within 150 feet of woodland or
brush land between the hours of 6 am and 6 pm during this time of
year. careful not to discard cigarettes in areas where they
could start a fire.
patchy frost is expected late tonight into thursday morning. it will
be most prevalent in valleys. it would be a good idea to protect
sensitive plants in the normally colder locations.

...late season wet...heavy snowfall expected over northwest upper
a broad low pressure system approaching from the plains will spread
precipitation across upper michigan thursday through friday morning.
whether this precipitation will be in the form of rain or snow
remains uncertain. at this appears a mix of rain and wet
snow will overspread upper michigan west to east on thursday...but
precipitation may change to mostly snow over the higher
terrain...mainly west of a line from marquette to iron mountain
thursday afternoon and thursday night. the wet snow may fall heavy at
times before the precipitation diminishes friday morning.
the heaviest snow will likely fall over the higher terrain of the
keweenaw peninsula. to the south...higher terrain locations west of
a line from marquette to iron mountain may see 4 to 7 inches of
heavy...wet snow accumulation by late morning friday. snow may not
accumulate on roadways thursday afternoon unless it is snowing
heavily. look for slushy snow accumulations to develop on roads late
in the afternoon and especially thursday night. travel may become
hazardous due to slushy snow on the roads. the wet...heavy nature of
the snow will also make shoveling and snow removal very difficult.
stay tuned to later forecasts for updates on this evolving early
spring winter storm.
