flood statement
national weather service indianapolis in
1017 am est sun feb 23 2020

...a flood warning continues for portions of the following waterways
in indiana...

  wabash river...

.lowland flooding of the lower wabash river continues at hutsonville
and riverton in west central indiana as of late sunday morning. the
river is expected to go below flood stage at these locations monday
morning.

flood impacts should now be confined to low agricultural land,
roads lowest and closest to the river, and bottomlands.

rainfall this week, possibly mixing with snow later in the week,
will likely bring rises to area waterways again. precipitation
through the first half of tuesday night across indiana is predicted
to range from around four tenths of an inch northeast to nine tenths
of an inch southwest. there is a fairly good chance of seeing a few
river gages on the wabash river reach minor flood stage again. there
is a slim chance of seeing flooding at a few locations on the lower
white river.

precautionary/preparedness actions...

motorists should never drive into flood water. turn around and go
another way. keep children away from flooded areas. recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.
