...dangerous breaking waves possible at the morro bay and ventura
harbor entrances through sunday...

...chance of thunderstorms with isolated waterspouts across the
coastal waters today...

a large long-period westerly swell will continue to move into the
coastal waters today through the weekend. this large swell may
produce breaking waves at the morro bay and ventura harbor
entrances today through sunday. these conditions have a history
of capsizing vessels of various sizes resulting in serious injury
or death...even to the most experienced mariners. mariners are
urged to stay clear of the harbor entrance. for more
information...contact the local harbor patrol or coast guard
station...and continue to monitor noaa weather radio for the
latest weather information.

additionally...another cold front will move across the waters today.
unstable air...associated with this storm...may generate strong
thunderstorms across the coastal waters through this afternoon...especially
south of ventura. any thunderstorms that develop will be capable of
producing locally strong winds and rough seas...dangerous lightning...heavy
rainfall with reduced visibility...and isolated waterspouts.
