evening...
* visibilities...one quarter mile or less at times.
* timing...wednesday afternoon through wednesday night. some
improvement is possible overnight as winds increase but
confidence is low that the fog will burn off.
* impacts...reduced visibilities will make travel difficult at
times along highway 2. visibilities will frequently be reduced
to less than one quarter mile between airway heights and
waterville.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
a dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. if driving...slow down...
use your headlights...and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.

the national weather service in pendleton has issued a dense fog
advisory...which is in effect until 10 am pst thursday.
* visibility: reduced to less than a quarter of a mile at times in
dense fog.
* impacts: the fog will reduce visibilities in the kittitas
valley...which will affect travel along interstates 82 and 90.
travelers are advised to exercise caution and drive with extreme
care when encountering fog.
precautionary/preparedness actions...

the national weather service in seattle has issued a wind
advisory...which is in effect from 6 pm this evening to 4 am pst
thursday.
* some affected locations...the north coast...whatcom county...the
san juan islands...and the admiralty inlet area including port
townsend and whidbey island.
* timing...winds will increase this evening...then begin
diminishing afterm midnight.
* wind...south to southeast wind 20 to 35 mph with gusts to 45
mph. winds may gust to 50 mph around the san juan islands.
* impacts...winds of this speed can break off tree limbs and
topple weak trees...potentially causing power outages.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
a wind advisory is issued when sustained winds of 30 to 39 mph
and/or gusts of 45 to 57 mph are likely.
