advisory...which is in effect from midnight tonight to 9 am pst
* low temperatures...mid 30s.
* locations include...valley and coastal locations with the
exception of areas less than a half mile from the coast.
locations include eureka...arcata...mckinleyville...
fortuna...boonville...willits and ukiah.

.a modified arctic air mass will continue to move into the
interior northwest today. this air mass is cold and relatively
dense...resulting in windy conditions with local strong wind
gusts through gaps in the local terrain.

including the cities of...naches...sunnyside...toppenish...

a wind advisory remains in effect until 4 pm pst this afternoon.
* timing: breezy to windy sustained winds with local strong
gusts will continue into mid afternoon. winds will gradually
decrease through the late afternoon and evening.
* winds: north to northeast winds of 20 to 35 mph with gusts of
40 to 55 mph.
* locations: terrace heights...union gap...sunnyside...hanford
area...benton city...goldendale...satus pass
* impacts: sudden strong wind gusts may cause difficulty driving
along interstate 82...highway 97 and state route 240. patches of
blowing dust will be possible due to the wind. motorists should
slow down and use caution where dust is reducing the visibility.
winds may cause some tree limbs to snap and loose objects to
suddenly become airborne.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
a wind advisory is issued when sustained winds are forecast
between 30 and 39 mph or gusts ranging from 45 to 57 mph. winds
of these magnitudes can make driving difficult...especially for
