through saturday afternoon...
* winds...southerly winds 20 to 20 kt. a few gusts to 35 kt
possible. winds easing by friday morning and becoming light.
south wind increasing again on saturday in advance of a warm
* seas...westerly 9 to 11 ft at 13 seconds through tonight then
building to 18 to 20 ft at 18 seconds by friday night. seas will
remain elevated through the weekend.
a small craft advisory means that wind speeds of 21 to 33 knots
are expected to produce hazardous wave conditions to small craft.
inexperienced mariners...especially those operating smaller
vessels should avoid navigating in these conditions.
a hazardous seas watch is issued when the risk of hazardous seas
has significantly increased...but the specific timing and/or
location is still uncertain. it is intended to provide
additional lead time for mariners who may wish to consider
altering their plans.

a small craft advisory for hazardous seas means that waves are
expected to be hazardous to small crafts. mariners should avoid
shoaling areas. long period swell can sharpen into large breaking
waves. remember...breaking waves can easily capsize even larger
