...fire danger statement remains in effect from noon to 6 pm
today...

a cold front will cross the area this afternoon with winds
becoming strong and gusty. sustained winds by midday will be
between 15 and 20 mph with gusts over 25 mph through the afternoon
hours. temperatures will climb into the upper 70s to lower 80s.
drier air moving into the region will result in relative humidity

marginal, the combination of strong winds and low relative
humidity will result in increased fire danger.

...fire danger statement in effect across upstate south carolina from
noon est today through this afternoon...

very dry conditions will continue across the upstate of south
carolina today. temperatures warming into the upper 60s and lower
70s combined with a very dry airmass moving into the region will
allow relative humidity values to lower to between 25 to 30
percent for several hours during the afternoon, with some
locations dropping below 25 percent. winds will increase to
between 15 to 20 mph with gusts 30 to 35 mph. while fuels will be
marginal, the combination of winds and low relative humidity will
increase fire danger.

please refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether
you can burn on saturday. if you do burn, use caution since fires
can quickly get out of hand under these conditions.
