...small craft advisory remains in effect from 10 am this morning
to 6 am est tuesday...
* winds...east to southeast 15 to 25 kt with gusts up to 30 kt
expected today. as the coastal front and warm front lift
northward...winds will veer to the south at 20 to 30 kt with few
gusts over 35 k .
* seas...3 to 6 ft this morning...building to 7 to 12 feet by late
this afternoon and continuing through tonight. average periods
between 4.5 to 5.0 seconds this morning...will increase to 5.5
to 6.5 seconds this afternoon through tonight.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
a small craft advisory means that wind speeds of 25 to 33 knots
and or seas of 6 ft or greater are expected to produce hazardous
conditions to small craft. inexperienced mariners...especially
those operating smaller vessels...should avoid navigating in
these conditions.
