1213 am edt sat aug 2 2014

...heavy rain may cause flooding over eastern north carolina
through the upcoming weekend...

.a stalled frontal boundary across the piedmont of north carolina
combined with a stream of tropical moisture will produce heavy
rainfall over the area through this weekend. radar estimates of
one to four inches fell across eastern north carolina on friday.
additional rainfall amounts of two to four inches are expected
through sunday...with locally higher amounts possible. this amount
of rainfall over already saturated soils may lead to flooding
across eastern north carolina...particularly in poor drainage
areas and near small streams and creeks.
