...elevated fire weather potential today and wednesday...
dry weather is expected today and wednesday with minimum relative
humidity values around 35 to 40 percent. in addition...west winds
will gust around 20 mph around midday and through the afternoon.
these factors combined with a lack of recent widespread rainfall
will create an elevated fire weather potential in western
massachusetts and northwest connecticut.

...elevated threat for brush fire spread this afternoon...
hot temperatures and westerly wind gusts of 20 to 25 mph are
expected this afternoon. relative humidity values will drop to the
lower 30s percent range during this time. while the area received
some rainfall yesterday...much of it was less than one quarter of
an inch. input from fire officials indicates the forecast weather
conditions and recent abnormally dry weather will result in
elevated fire weather concerns for today.
