the national weather service in mount holly has issued a small
craft advisory...which is in effect until 6 pm edt sunday. the
small craft advisory for hazardous seas has been cancelled.
* locations...the atlantic coastal waters of southern new jersey
and delaware.
* winds...increasing northeast 10 to 20 kt with gusts up to 30 kt.
small craft advisory gusts should start occurring after midnight
tonight.
* seas...3 to 6 feet.
* timing...there might be a period of sub small craft advisory
conditions later this afternoon and evening before they return
overnight and continue during the day on sunday.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
a small craft advisory means that wind speeds of 25 to 33 knots
and/or seas of 5 feet or greater are anticipated. winds and seas
within these ranges are expected to produce hazardous conditions
for small craft. inexperienced mariners...especially those
operating smaller vessels should avoid navigating in these
conditions.
