...gale warning remains in effect from 11 pm this evening to 2 am
* location...coastal ocean waters...new york harbor...long island
sound...and the bays of long island.
* winds...northwest 20 to 30 kt with gusts up to 40 kt.
* seas...6 to 10 feet on the ocean...and 3 to 5 on long island
* timing...late tonight into early thursday night.
a gale warning means sustained winds or frequent gusts of 34 to
47 kt are expected or occurring. operating a vessel in gale
conditions requires experience and properly equipped vessels. it
is highly recommended that mariners without the proper experience
seek safe harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions.

...gale warning remains in effect from 7 pm this evening to 1 am
* locations...the atlantic coastal waters of central and northern
* winds...west 25 to 35 kt with gusts up to 45 kt.
* timing...the strongest winds will occur with and behind a cold
front that will sweep through wednesday evening. the gusty winds
will continue through the day thursday. winds are not expected
to subside below gale criteria until late thursday evening.
* seas...5 to 8 feet.
* freezing spray...light freezing spray is expected thursday.
* squall line..there is a small chance for a squall line with
isolated severe thunderstorms producing wind gusts to near 50
kt late wednesday afternoon or evening...primarily along the
delaware and far southern new jersey coastal waters.
