...strong thunderstorms will affect monmouth and ocean counties...
at 212 am edt...national weather service doppler radar indicated
scattered strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 17 miles
northwest of toms river to 16 miles south of toms river...moving
northeast at 25 mph. the thunderstorms will be near adelphia...east
freehold around 230 am...eatontown...lincroft around 245
am...oceanport and monmouth beach around 300 am.
very heavy rain will fall from these storms...and will cause water to
pond on roads and quickly fill poor drainage areas.
cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. if out
late do not seek shelter under trees when lightning threatens...move
indoors when a thunderstorm approaches.
