moderate to heavy rain that will cause urban and small stream
flooding. overflowing poor drainage areas will result in minor
flooding in the advisory area. this rain was falling over areas
which had seen significant rainfall earlier today.
* some locations that will experience minor flooding include

* at 1042 pm edt...national weather service doppler radar indicated
a large area of heavy showers and thunderstorms approaching from
northeast pennsylvania and northwestern new jersey.
* widespread additional rainfall of one half to one inch...with
localized amounts of 1 to 2 inches...could cause additional minor
flooding of low lying and poor drainage areas overnight.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
minor flooding means that although streams and creeks may rise out of
their banks...property damage will be minimal. inconveniences can be
expected but the flooding will not be immediately life threatening.
be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of floods.
be prepared to take action if the flooding threat increases...or a
