...heavy rainfall threat continues today...
.an unusually moist and slow moving weather system will continue
to affect the northland today and tonight. the unseasonably high
moisture available with this system will bring a threat for
significant rainfall from more showers and thunderstorms...and
possible result in flash flooding.
some parts of northeast minnesota and northwest wisconsin have
already received heavy rainfall in excess of 2 to 3 inches over
the past few days. the heaviest rain of 3 to 6 inches fell over
much of iron...ashland...sawyer...and southeast bayfield
counties. parts of southern cass...crow wing...and aitkin
counties also received 2 to 3 inches of rain. additional heavy
rain from showers and storms today and tonight could result in
flash flooding. please monitor latest forecasts and warnings for
the latest information.
