minor coastal flooding adjacent to southern pamlico sound today...
.increasing northeast winds will lead to waves in the surf zone
reaching 7 to 9 feet today north of cape hatteras. the rough surf
conditions will continue into monday. some minor coastal flooding
is also expected adjacent to the southern pamlico sound across
parts of carteret...craven and pamlico counties.

* coastal flooding...water levels rises of 2 to 3 feet above

* impacts...some localized flooding of roads and low lying areas

a coastal flood advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
