friday...
* timing...a strong pacific front will bring gale force winds to
the coastal waters midday thursday through much of thursday
night. winds will switch to the southwest and ease somewhat
behind the front.
* seas...8 to 10 feet building to 11 to 14 feet late thursday
afternoon and thursday evening.
* wind...south to southeast 25 to 40 knots.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
a gale warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots are imminent or
occurring. operating a vessel in gale conditions requires
experience and properly equipped vessels. it is highly
recommended that mariners without the proper experience seek safe
harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions.
