.runoff from heavy rain has resulted in high stages along the wateree river.. 

precautionary/preparedness actions...

safety message...never drive vehicles through flooded areas. the 
water may be too deep to allow safe passage. never allow children to 
play in or near flood waters. stay tuned to noaa weather radio...

* at 10 am sunday the stage was 98.7 feet. 
* flood stage is 100.0 feet. 
* minor flooding is forecast. 
* forecast...the river will rise above flood stage after midnight 
  and continue to rise to  100.6 feet tomorrow evening. the 
  river will fall below flood stage by wednesday april 23. 
* at 100.4 feet...the water begins to overflow one or more marinas and
  piers along the northwest shores.

pee dee river. the river will continue to rise to exceed flood stage at 
cheraw this evening...

* at 30.0 feet...the higher bank begins to flood. large areas of 
  farmland and river bottomland near cheraw will be flooded.

* at 6.0 feet...the access road into the river bluff in midville

  off. several fish camps...residential areas and additional rural 
  roads in the area will be flooded.
