152 pm cst thu nov 27 2014
...a flood warning for an ice jam remains in effect until 300 pm cst
saturday for east central hall county...
lowland flooding continues adjacent to the channel of the platte
river located south of interstate 80 and near highway 281. the
primary flooding threat is anticipated to be for agricultural areas
near the river...especially for locations near the platte from just
west of highway 281 to near the locust street interchange.
however...additional ice jams could also affect businesses south of
interstate 80 at exit 312.
late thursday morning water was observed flowing through this
channel of the river although areas of ice remained. temperatures
are forecast to fall below freezing again tonight before they warm
into the 60s for friday and saturday. thus ice jam flooding may
still be an issue through saturday afternoon.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
a flood warning means that flooding is imminent or has been reported.
stream rises will be slow and flash flooding is not expected.
however...all interested parties should take necessary precautions
immediately.
