snow...heavy at times...continues over the greater capital
region...eastern catskills...mid hudson valley...taconics...lake
george saratoga region...southeastern adirondacks...portions of
the mohawk river valley...and all of western new england. all
areas will see snowfall rates of around a half inch per hour
with localized bands of heavy snow yielding brief snow bursts near
2 inches per hour...and near whiteout conditions. snow totals will
quickly increase...with an additional 1 to 3 inches possible
through midnight. this snow will be a dryer and fluffier snow.
snow covered roadways will cause slippery driving conditions
accompanied by poor visibilities. unless an emergency...please do
not travel on the roadways...and if traveling...please keep
emergency supplies in your vehicle.

schoharie valley and portions of the mohawk river valley. the
bands of heavier now are shifting east and all heavier snow bursts
should end before midnight. snowfall rates of around a half inch
per hour with localized bands of heavy snow yielding brief snow
bursts near 2 inches per hour...will diminish to light snow before
midnight. up to 2 inches of additional snowfall are possible
before the heavier snow ends. this snow will be a dryer and
fluffier snow.

colder air will arrive across the area overnight as the low
pressure system moves away from our region. this colder air will
arrive as plenty of moisture remains on the ground over the area.
patchy ice may develop on untreated roads overnight and patchy ice
and snow will be found on roads where accumulating snow fell on
wednesday. please exercise caution if you will be travelling
tonight or thursday morning.
