...gusty winds and rough seas across the coastal waters adjacent to
the middle and upper keys...
at 500 pm...national weather service meteorologists detected numerous
showers...areas of rain...and a few embedded
thunderstorms...extending from near the cay sal bank in the distant
straits of florida...to the reef tract south of the upper keys...to
florida bay. individual cells will move north-northwestward at 15 to
20 knots. through 700 pm...mariners and boaters should prepare for
poor visibility and localized wind gusts of 30 to 35 knots within the
heaviest showers. carysfort reef recently reported a wind gust of 35
knots within a passing rain shower. rough and confused seas will
persist. stay tuned to noaa weather radio for additional statements
or warnings.

a marine weather statement has been issued until 600 pm edt for the
following areas...
biscayne bay...
coastal waters from deerfield beach to ocean reef fl out 20 nm...
coastal waters from jupiter inlet to deerfield beach fl out 20
nm...
waters from deerfield beach to ocean reef fl from 20 to 60 nm
excluding the territorial waters of bahamas...
waters from jupiter inlet to deerfield beach fl from 20 to 60
nm...
at 437 pm edt...doppler radar indicated a line of gusty showers and
embedded thunderstorms...capable of producing winds up to 33 knots.
these thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 58 nm
east of surfside to 12 nm east of carysfort reef light...moving
north at 30 knots.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
mariners can expect gusty winds up to 33 knots...locally higher
waves...and lightning strikes. boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until these storms pass.
