outlook through thursday september 25:
small swells will affect almost all shores through the forecast
period. the small northeast swell will peak today followed by a
gradual decline over the weekend. another small northeast swell with
a longer period of 15 seconds is due to arrive next week thursday.
there will be a couple of small northwest swells during the forecast
period. one is slated to arrive saturday followed by a slightly
larger one next week tuesday night. a small background swell from
the south will persist through out the forecast period.
surf heights are forecast heights of the face or front of waves. the
surf forecast is based on the significant wave height...the average
height of the one third largest waves...in the zone of maximum
refraction. some waves may be more than twice as high as the
significant wave height. expect to encounter rip currents in or near
any surf zone.
