...dense fog advisory in effect until 10 am cst this morning...

the national weather service in quad cities has issued a dense
fog advisory, which is in effect until 10 am cst this morning.

* visibilities...less than one half mile with localized areas near
  zero.

* timing...through 10 am.

* impacts...visibilities may change suddenly over very short
  distances. slick roads are also possible due to below freezing
  temperatures.

precautionary/preparedness actions...

a dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. if driving, slow down, use
your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
