continues for
  the humboldt river at comus.
* until further notice.
* at  1:15 pm sunday the stage was 10.3 feet.
* flood stage is 9.5 feet.
* minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* forecast...the river will continue to fall to a stage of 10.2 feet 
  by early tomorrow.
* impact...at 10.5 feet...moderate lowland flooding throughout reach, 
  with some rural roads flooded. minor flooding in lower parts of 
  winnemucca with sewer backups. the main area impacted is between
  the union pacific railroad and second street beneath interstate 80.
  property damage in winnemucca is minimal.

  el dorado county in northern california...
  placer county in central california...
  sierra county in northern california...
  nevada county in northern california...
  southern washoe county in western nevada...
  douglas county in western nevada...
  western carson city in western nevada...

* until 830 am pdt tuesday

* periods of rapid snow melt are likely to continue through the 
  memorial day weekend. this will lead to high flows and minor 
  flooding near unregulated creeks and streams leading out of the 
  sierra. 

* the greatest risk for flooding will occur through thursday morning 
  and again over the memorial day weekend from saturday to tuesday 
  may 30th. 

* daily peak flows on small creeks and streams typically occur 
  during the evening and overnight hours.

precautionary/preparedness actions...

creeks and streams will run fast and very cold, bringing the risk of 
hypothermia for those without protective gear. those with plans to 
camp in the sierra over the memorial day weekend should be prepared 
to quickly leave creek side campsites. hikers will want to be 
cautious while trying to cross creeks and streams.

the national weather service in reno has extended the

* flood advisory for...

  northern mono county in northern california...
  douglas county in western nevada...
  southern lyon county in west central nevada...

* until 330 pm pdt tuesday

* the west walker river will approach and possibly exceed flood 
  stage both friday and saturday nights. higher flows above minor 
  and approaching moderate flood stages are expected sunday night 
  and likely through next week.

* warming temperatures will produce increased snowmelt, creating 
  high flows in area streams and rivers through the weekend and 
  likely for the next several weeks. this will produce additional 
  minor flooding along the west walker river and exacerbate already 
  existing minor flooding in antelope valley and the southern end of 
  the mason valley. 

* flooding of pastures, rural roads, and campgrounds is possible 
  through the west walker river canyon. additional flooding of 
  agricultural areas in antelope valley along the west walker river 
  is likely along with very high water through smith valley and 
  wilson canyon.

* along the east walker river minor flooding is expected to continue 
  from above strosnider ditch to the confluence with the west walker 
  river.

...the flood warning continues for the following rivers in nevada...

  humboldt river near imlay affecting pershing county

runoff in the upper and middle portions of the humboldt basin will
continue producing minor flooding above rye patch reservoir through 
much of june. the river will fall next week...but is likely to rise
again during the middle part of june.

precautionary/preparedness actions...

these river forecasts are based on forecast rainfall and temperature 
conditions at time of issuance. if actual conditions vary from these
forecasts...river conditions will vary accordingly.

* flood stage is 10.3 feet.
* minor flooding is occurring and forecast to continue.
* forecast...the river will slowly fall into early next week...
  but remain above flood stage.
* impact...at 10.3 feet...minor flooding of tungsten road south of
  the river between the river and the pit taylor canal. the road 
  is currently passable with a high clearance vehicle. some minor
  low land flooding is possible very near the river from the
  humboldt county line to rye patch. at a higher level access to
  flying m ranch via old idaho stage road may be impacted.
