...gale warning continues through monday night...

.another strong pacific storm will bring gale force winds and
very rough seas through monday night. winds and seas will
gradually diminish tuesday.

coastal waters from san mateo point to the mexican border and out
to 30 nm-
waters from san mateo point to the mexican border extending 30 to
60 nm out including san clemente island-
1120 am pst sun jan 22 2017

...gale warning remains in effect until 4 am pst tuesday...

* winds...southerly winds 20 to 25 kt with gusts to 35 kt... 
  becoming southwest tonight...west monday morning...and then 
  northwest monday night. 

* waves/seas...combined seas rising to 11 to 16 feet...with rough
  seas continuing through monday night.

* outlook...winds will diminish on tuesday...but seas may not
  lower below 10 feet until late tuesday.

precautionary/preparedness actions...

a gale warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots are imminent or
occurring. operating a vessel in gale conditions requires
experience and properly equipped vessels. it is highly
recommended that mariners without the proper experience seek safe
harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions.
