...high surf advisory for south facing shores of all islands...

.hazardous surf conditions are expected along the south facing
shores of all hawaiian islands through sunday afternoon due to
a large south-southwest swell. in addition...a combination of
elevated surf and record-level king tides during the late
afternoon and early evening hours will enhance wave run-up...
likely flooding portions of beaches which normally remain dry
or exposed.

...high surf advisory now in effect until 6 pm hst sunday...

* surf...along south facing shores of all islands...6 to 10 feet
today...then gradually lowering to 5 to 8 feet late tonight and

* timing...through sunday afternoon.

* impacts...expect ocean water occasionally sweeping across
portions of beaches...particularly around each late afternoon
and early evening high tide. very strong breaking waves and rip
currents are also likely. breaking waves may occasionally impact
  harbors...making navigating harbor channels dangerous.

precautionary/preparedness actions...
large breaking surf...significant shorebreak...and rip currents
make entering the water hazardous. beachgoers...swimmers...and
surfers should heed all advice given by ocean safety officials and
exercise caution
