* hazard types...accumulating snow at elevations above 4000
feet. windy through and below mountain passes.
* snow accumulations...up to 1 inch.
* winds...south 5 to 10 mph.
* timing...snow showers will continue through monday morning.
snow levels will be near 4000 feet by late this afternoon.
* impacts...people traveling on interstate 5 or highways 58 and
178 should be prepared for slick roads and possible travel
delays through tonight.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
a winter weather advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause travel difficulties. be prepared for snow covered
roads and limited visibilities...and use caution while driving.

* locations...the mountains of santa barbara county.
* hazard types...snow...blowing snow...poor visibilities...
isolated thunderstorms with small hail.
* accumulations...snowfall totals of 4 to 8 inches are expected
above 5000 feet...with 2 to 5 inches between 4000 and 5000
feet. local accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are possible down
at elevations as low as 3500 feet.
* timing and snow levels...showers will continue through this
evening before tapering off. snow levels will be between 3500
and 4000 feet.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities...and
use caution while driving. check the latest road reports before
departing. keep an emergency kit in your vehicle which includes a
flashlight...food and water...extra clothes and blankets...and
tire chains.
