....dangerous breaking waves possible at the morro bay and
ventura harbor entrances today...

...thunderstorms possible today...

a large west to northwesterly swell may continue to produce
breaking waves at times near the morro bay and ventura harbor
entrances through today. in addition...breaking waves nearshore
can occur at anytime without notice. these conditions have a
history of capsizing vessels of various sizes resulting in serious
injury or death...even to the most experienced mariners. mariners
are urged to stay clear of these harbor entrances and stay well
away from the immediate shoreline.

unstable air will move over the coastal waters today. any
thunderstorms that develop will be capable of producing locally
strong winds and rough seas...dangerous lightning...heavy rainfall
with reduced visibility...and isolated waterspouts.

...slight chance of thunderstorms today into this evening over
the coastal waters...

in addition to the showers and strong winds over the coastal
waters...there is a slight chance of thunderstorms today through
the evening. thunderstorms could bring strong and erratic wind
gusts of 40 knots or higher...frequent lightning...heavy
downpours...hail and waterspouts.

mariners should stay tuned to the latest weather conditions and
seek safe harbor should threatening weather approach or if marine
warnings are issued.
