...dense fog advisory in effect until noon pst thursday...
the national weather service in hanford has issued a dense fog
advisory for the central and southern san joaquin valley...which
is in effect until noon pst thursday.
* timing...dense fog will continue to develop through the evening
hours. the densest fog will be around to a couple of hours after
sunrise...impacting the morning commute. the fog will begin to
lift by noon thursday.
* visibility...widespread less than a quarter mile. locally less
than 500 feet.
* impacts...dense fog can make driving hazardous...especially
during the morning commute. slow down...put headlights on low
beam...and leave extra stopping distance between you and the
vehicle in front of you. if possible...postpone travel until
conditions improve.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
a dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. if driving...slow down...
use your headlights...and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
