flood watch
national weather service san francisco bay area
422 pm pst sun feb 19 2017

...increased flood risk as an atmospheric river impacts the
region through monday night...

.a potent storm will bring another round of heavy rainfall to the
greater san franciso bay area and monterey bay area beginning late
sunday and continuing through monday night. a prolonged period of
moderate to heavy rainfall on already saturated soils will
increase the threat for flash flooding...flooding of area
creeks...streams and rivers as well as flooding of low
lying...poorly drained areas across the region. the threat for
rock/mud slides and shallow landslides also exists as well as
increased likelihood for downed trees... power lines and damage to
or washed out roadways.

area streams, creeks and rivers. other impacts include increased
risk of rock/mud slides in steep terrain, downed trees and power
lines, and damaged to or washed out roadways.

precautionary/preparedness actions...

a flood watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

you should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. those living in areas prone to flooding should be
