...winter storm watch remains in effect from friday morning
through saturday morning...

* additional snow accumulations...up to an inch.

* snow levels...1500 feet this evening, lowering to 750 feet 
  overnight.

* timing...snow showers will taper to flurries tonight. 

* locations include...interstate 5 at sexton summit, smith hill 
  pass, stage road pass, and canyon creek pass, highway 227 
  between tiller and trail, and highway 62 above lost creek 
  reservoir. glendale, cave junction, obrien, ruch, and ashland 
  will also be affected. 

* impacts...area roads above 2000 foot elevations, including
  interstate 5, will be slippery. colder conditions this evening will
  lead to greater potential of accumulations on roadways down to 
  about 1500 feet, as well as the potential for black ice 
  formation. 

* friday afternoon into saturday morning...another storm could 
  bring significant snow accumulations to similar areas.

sunday night...

the national weather service in medford has issued a winter storm
watch...which is in effect from sunday morning through late
sunday night. 

* snow accumulations: 1 to 2 inches through tonight. 3 to 6 
  inches are possible in the watch area sunday.

* elevation: above 1500 feet through tonight. above 2500 feet for
  the watch on sunday.

* timing: snow showers will continue and may become moderate this
  evening through tonight. another round of heavier snowfall is
  possible sunday.

* locations include: jacksonville hill, the tiller-trail highway,
  and dead indian memorial road. 

* impacts: snowfall will create slippery, snow covered roads, and
  reduce visibilities to less than a half mile or less at times.

...winter weather advisory is cancelled...

the national weather service in portland has cancelled the winter
weather advisory.

surface temperatures have warmed into the upper 30s and low 40s
along the travel corridors through the central oregon coast range.
although heavier showers may still bring snowflakes to the 
surface at times through this evening, additional accumulations 
are not expected.
