...flood watch remains in effect from this evening through late
the flood watch continues for
* portions of western washington...including the following
* from this evening through late sunday night
* another period of heavy rain is forecast across western
washington from this afternoon through early sunday morning as a
wet pacific system crosses the region. forecast models continue
to show heavy precipitation in the mountains with 2 to 4 inches
across the olympics and cascades. snow levels will remain above
7000 feet with precipitation mainly falling as rain over the
river basins. rivers are already running high from recent heavy
rains and additional heavy rainfall amounts will force sharp
rises once again...with minor flooding possible.
* recent rainfall has increased the threat of landslides
throughout western washington and a few landslides have already occurred.
additional landslides could be triggered by this next round of
a flood watch means conditions are favorable for flooding but
flooding is not imminent or occurring. monitor the latest
forecasts from the national weather service and be ready to act
quickly if flooding is observed or a warning is issued.
