* flood warning for urban areas and small streams in...
southeastern ector county in west texas...
extreme southeastern loving county in west texas...
southwestern midland county in west texas...
crane county in west texas...
north central pecos county in southwest texas...
western upton county in west texas...
ward county in west texas...
extreme southwestern winkler county in west texas...
extreme east central reeves county in southwest texas...

* at 420 pm cdt...multiple secondary roads in the warned area were
experiencing flooding due to heavy rainfall that occurred earlier.
flooding was reported on highway 385 between odessa and mccamey.
a stretch of ranch road 11 east of grandfalls was also reportedly
closed. additional locally heavy rainfall was also occurring across
portions of the warned area.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
streams and drainages affected include but are not limited to...
landreth draw...pecos river...leon creek...comanche creek and johnson
most flooding deaths are preventable... and many occur when motorists
drive across flooded roadways. it is never safe to drive on flooded
roads. it takes only a few inches of rapidly flowing water to quickly
carry away your vehicle. turn around...dont drown.
