...heat indices from 105 to 109 degrees are expected again today...
the combination of warm temperatures and high dewpoints will
produce heat indices from 105 to 109 degrees today...primarily
this afternoon and early evening. residents with outdoor
activities planned are urged to drink plenty of water...wear light
weight and light colored clothing...and take frequent breaks from
the heat. young children and pets should never be left unattended
in vehicles under any circumstances. this is especially true
during warm or hot weather when car interiors can reach lethal
temperatures in a matter of minutes.

...heat index values near 105 degrees this afternoon...
high temperatures today will again range from the mid 90s to near
100 degrees across portions of south central texas. in addition...
humid conditions will persist due to recent rainfall and low level
moisture from the gulf of mexico...especially along and south of
the u.s. highway 90 corridor. the heat and humidity in place will
combine to drive heat index values to around 105 degrees during
the afternoon hours. as temperatures fall around sunset heat index
values should drop below 100 degrees.
take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. wear
light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink
plenty of water. never leave children...disabled adults or pets in
parked vehicles.
