* waves/seas...seas increasing to 9 to 12 feet.
* impacts...once the front passes very difficult and hazardous
navigation conditions in the laguna madre and gulf of mexico
waters of the lower texas coast.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
a gale watch is issued when winds of 34 to 47 knots are
possible...generally beyond 36 hours out. the specific timing and
or location is still uncertain. the watch is intended to provide

nautical miles. a gale watch remains in effect from late
wednesday night through thursday afternoon.
* visibility: one nautical mile or less at times.
* winds: 25-30 knots with frequent gale force gusts.
* seas: 8 to 10 feet in open water...bays rough to very rough.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
a dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one mile. inexperienced mariners...
especially those operating smaller vessels should avoid
navigating in these conditions.
a gale watch is issued when the risk of gale force winds of 34 to

mariners should be prepared for sudden changes in visibility over
short distances. reduce your speed and keep a lookout for other
vessels...buoys and breakwaters. keep your navigation lights on.
inexperienced mariners...especially those operating smaller craft
or not equipped with radar...should consider seeking safe harbor.
