...gale watch in effect from tuesday afternoon through late
tuesday night...
the national weather service in corpus christi has issued a gale
watch...which is in effect from tuesday afternoon through late
tuesday night.
* winds: around 30 knots late tuesday afternoon and tuesday
night...with frequent gusts around 40 knots. sustained northwest
winds 25 to 30 knots after midnight.
* seas: building to 7 to 9 feet nearshore and 9 to 11 feet
offshore. occasional seas up to 11 feet nearshore and 14 feet
offshore.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
a gale watch is issued when the risk of gale force winds of 34 to
47 knots has significantly increased...but the specific timing
and/or location is still uncertain. it is intended to provide
additional lead time for mariners who may wish to consider
altering their plans.
