...winter weather advisory remains in effect from 3 am to 3 pm
cst thursday...
a winter weather advisory remains in effect from 3 am to 3 pm cst
thursday.
* timing: the worst conditions are expected to materialize
around daybreak and continue until early afternoon.
* accumulation: a tenth to one quarter inch of ice...mainly on
elevated surfaces. additional light sleet accumulation is
possible as well.
* impacts: hazardous travel conditions will develop mainly on
bridges and overpasses. much of the area will have
temperatures near or just below freezing when the
precipitation falls...but areas that see temperatures fall
below 30 will have worse travel issues. a few power outages
will be possible.
* other impacts: windy conditions combined with the falling
temperatures will result in wind chill readings in the upper
teens.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
a winter weather advisory means that periods of sleet and
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities...and use caution while
driving.
