...moderate risk of rip currents today...

rip current risk:      moderate. life threatening rip currents are 
                       possible in the surf zone. remember to swim 
                       near a lifeguard and with a non-inflatable 
                       device, such as a life jacket or boogie 
                       board. 

lightning risk:	       moderate. 

ultraviolet index:     very high. you need protection against sun
                       damage. if you need to be outside during 
                       midday hours between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., 
                       take steps to reduce sun exposure. a shirt, 
                       wide-brimmed hat and sunscreen of spf 15 or
                       higher are a must, and be sure you seek
                       shade. beachgoers should know that white
                       sand and other bright surfaces reflect uv
                       radiation and can double uv exposure.

weather:               partly sunny. scattered showers and 
                       thunderstorms in the morning, then isolated 
                       showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. 
                       chance of precipitation 40 percent.

wind:                  southwest 10 to 15 mph shifting to the 
                       southeast late in the afternoon.

wave heights:          1 to 3 feet.

                       a high at 6 29 pm. 
                       
outlook:               the risk of rip currents is expected to decrease
                       through the first half of the week. isolated 
                       to scattered showers and thunderstorms
                       are expected each day this week, mainly
                       during the late morning into early afternoon 
                       hours.
