* thunderstorms...strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible
this afternoon through around 3 am sunday morning. during the
daylight hours isolated strong to severe thunderstorms may form
and race quickly north with a threat of winds in excess of 30
knots and waterspouts. by tonight severe thunderstorms should
move from west to east through the upper texas coastal waters
bringing winds of 35 to 50 knots.

a small craft advisory means that wind speeds of 20 to 33 knots...and/or
seas 7 feet or higher...are expected to produce hazardous conditions

tonight...
.increasing southeast winds will continue over the coastal waters
today into sunday in response to a vigorous storm system advancing
east over the southern plains. this storm system will bring
widespread showers and thunderstorms across the northern gulf
today through early sunday. some thunderstorms will have the
potential to become severe with stronger winds possible.
also...the increasing southerly winds will bring water levels 1 to
2 feet above normal today through early sunday across the coastal
lakes and bays. precipitation will taper off sunday afternoon
behind the exiting system with subsiding winds and seas. the next
frontal passage is expected late sunday into monday...with
offshore flow increasing behind the front.
