central miami-dade county...
at 735 am edt...the park ranger at the bill baggs florida state park
reported water up to the curb covering the roadways due to
thunderstorms. up to 3.25 inches of rain has fallen in the advised
area.
some locations that will experience flooding include...
key biscayne.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels on
small creeks and streams...and ponding of water in urban areas...
highways...streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage
areas and low lying spots.

* minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* flood stage is 25.0 feet.
* forecast...the river will continue rising to near 26.7 feet by
tuesday evening then begin falling.
* impact...at 25.0 feet...this level is considered minimum flood
stage. downstream from the gage...a few hunting cottages and fish
camps will be affected.

tonight or early sunday. the river will fall below flood stage
wednesday early afternoon.
* impact...at 56.0 feet...widespread lowland flooding will occur.
water will approach a few houses on us highway 27.

* minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* forecast...the river will continue rising to near 21.9 feet by
monday morning.
* impact...at 22.0 feet...minor lowland flooding will occur on many
roads including byrd parker road...warmouth drive...gaskin
park...the end of lake grove road...elm street on red bull
island...and lower landing on howards creek. the 22.0 ft level at
blountstown may at times not be representative of river levels in
the these areas due to tidal effects...winds...or local rainfall
and should be used with caution.
