the areas affected include...
chesapeake bay from little creek va to cape henry va including the
chesapeake bay bridge tunnel...
chesapeake bay from new point comfort to little creek va...
at 748 am edt...doppler radar indicated a strong
thunderstorm...capable of producing heavy rain and winds to around
30 knots. this thunderstorm was located over little creek...moving
north at 20 knots.
locations impacted include...
bluefish rock...little creek...cabbage patch...thimble shoals...the
hump...1st island bay bridge and plantation light.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots...locally higher
waves...lightning strikes...and heavy downpours. boaters should seek
safe harbor immediately until this storm passes.
intense lightning is occurring with this storm. if caught on the open
water stay below deck if possible...keep away from ungrounded metal
objects.

at 745 am edt...doppler radar indicated strong
thunderstorms...capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. these
thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near african
queen wreck to 16 nm south of jackspot reef to 7 nm east of parking
lot...moving north at 15 knots.
locations impacted include...
african queen wreck...jackspot reef and parking lot.

mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots...locally higher
waves...lightning strikes...and heavy downpours. boaters should seek
safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.

were located along a line extending from near northern neck reef to
poquoson...moving north at 15 knots.
these showers may be capable of developing embedded thunderstorms.
locations impacted include...
northern neck reef...gwynns island reef...longs creek inlet...tue
marshes light...new point comfort...stingray point...poquoson...wolf
trap...york spit reef...hole in the wall...gwynns island...windmill
point and smith point.
