the national weather service has issued a flood warning for the wolf 
river at rossville..

precautionary/preparedness actions...

a followup flood statement will be issued later today.

for graphical river and flood information...please go to 
www.weather.gov and click near memphis on the map. then select rivers
and lakes ahps under current conditions.

do not drive through flooded areas...turn around don't drown.

stay tuned to your weather radio and your local news media for the 
latest river information.

the national weather service in memphis tn has issued a 

* flood warning for 
  the wolf river near wolf river near rossville 1n
* from sunday february 25 until monday february 26.
* at 10 am friday the stage was...12.7 feet.
* minor flooding is forecast.
* maximum forecast stage of 13.5 feet on sunday february 25.
* flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* forecast to rise above flood stage by sunday february 25 and 
  continue to rise to near 13.5 feet by sunday february 25.
  the river   will fall below flood stage by monday february 26.
at 14.0 feet, flood water begins to flow over highways 196, 205 and 
houston levee road near the wolf river. morrison creek at rossville 
will begin to backwater flood around the businesses near the railroad
tracks. the collierville-arlington road is flooding or flooded near 
the wolf river bridge. residential areas near the river in southeast 
shelby county will begin to flood..

  southeastern craighead county in eastern arkansas...
  northwestern st. francis county in eastern arkansas...
  eastern poinsett county in eastern arkansas...
  mississippi county in eastern arkansas...
  northern crittenden county in eastern arkansas...
  cross county in eastern arkansas...
  southern pemiscot county in southeastern missouri...
  tipton county in southwestern tennessee...
  dyer county in northwestern tennessee...
  western obion county in northwestern tennessee...
  lauderdale county in southwestern tennessee...
  southern lake county in northwestern tennessee...

* until 645 pm cst friday

* at 1226 pm cst, doppler radar indicated indicated up to five 
  inches of rain has fallen. flooding of low lying roads continues 
  across the area. 

* some locations that will experience flooding include...
  dyersburg, blytheville, forrest city, covington, ripley, wynne,
  osceola, trumann, caruthersville, gosnell, manila, marked tree,
  earle, steele, lepanto, caraway, luxora, parkin, wilson and
  tyronza.

precautionary/preparedness actions...

turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

in hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. find an alternate route.

please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.
